Six Things Helping Me Feel Human Again

Ever wish you could just turn your brain off and back on again? Same. After a long stretch of heavy sessions and heavier headlines, I found myself lying on the rug, staring at the ceiling, thinking: “I’d love a good ol’ hard reset.”

This essay is for anyone who’s been running on empty — the kind of tired that seeps into your bones and makes even joy feel like a group project. In it, I share six small, slightly irreverent, deeply human practices that have been helping me find my footing again.

Here’s a taste:
🌿 The healing power of “trots” (aka: very slow, very earnest runs)
🎸 The surprising magic of punk rock Taylor Swift covers
🙏 Finding faith through ancient liturgy and shared grief
💬 Friendship by voice memo — because scheduling is hard
📚 Escapist fiction as a balm for an overstimulated brain
🪡 Cross-stitching swear words as an act of defiant joy
✨ And most importantly: remembering that there’s still goodness here

If you’ve been feeling off, overwhelmed, or disconnected from your own softness lately, this piece is a small love letter to that ache — and to the quiet work of becoming human again.
