Books on Pregnancy & Infant Loss: Stories of Grief, Healing, and Hope

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to honor the full spectrum of reproductive loss - from miscarriage and stillbirth to childlessness, termination for medical reasons, ectopic pregnancy, and more. These losses are diverse, complex, and often deeply invisible.

Even though pregnancy and infant loss are tragically common, many people don’t receive the acknowledgment or community support they deserve. That’s beginning to change, thanks to courageous individuals sharing their stories and to authors helping break the silence through their words.

In this essay, I share several books that shed light on reproductive loss from different perspectives - for individuals who are grieving, friends who want to offer better support, and clinicians who want to deepen their understanding of reproductive trauma.

Whether you’re navigating loss yourself or seeking to support someone who is, these reads offer empathy, education, and hope.
